Peter R. Phillips, CFA®, CAIA® is SVP and Chief Investment Officer for Washington Trust Wealth Management. He is responsible for oversight of the investment research and decision-making functions at Washington Trust Wealth Management. Peter leads the development of the group’s investment policy and communicates the group’s point of view to the public through webinars and special presentations to accountants, attorneys, and other centers of influence. He also oversees all internal investment related committees and the Investment Research Group, our experienced in-house investment research team, and is responsible for disseminating key investment information across business lines. Peter is also a voting member of the Investment Committee of Washington Trust Advisors.
Prior to joining Washington Trust, he spent 10 years as an investment officer with Amica Mutual Insurance Company.
Peter holds a master’s degree from Bentley College and a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University.
A Rhode Island resident, he serves as a Board Member and investment committee member at the Rhode Island Foundation; a Board Member and Chair of the investment committee at Care New England; and an investment committee member at Save the Bay. He is a former investment committee member of the 100 Club of Rhode Island, past President of the CFA Society Providence, and an adjunct instructor of securities analysis at Bryant University.
